Reading This Is Life

A Reflective Companion

On the surface, This Is Life is a picture book, but each line in this book can also be read as a design thought; a reflection on how the structures shaping human life might evolve if they behaved less like fixed constructs and more like living systems: adaptive, responsive, participatory and fluid.

1. The world is waiting to be reshaped by us.

Our world reflects our shared choices, habits, what we accept and what we ignore. The change we want is waiting on us.

2. Everything we can imagine is already within our reach.

Humanity has the technical capacity to build anything we imagine, including a system where life truly flourishes.

3. It is up to us to access it and create the world we want to live in.

What comes next is shaped by acting on our imagination and creating what we envision.

4. Imagine the landscape is open for all to see and enjoy.

In this world, the environment is no longer a passive backdrop, but an active, integrated part of a the life we inhabit.

5. Brick and mortar buildings are a thing of the past.

Stability doesn’t have to mean static; by designing for responsiveness instead of permanence, our environments can finally change with us. Spaces can be dependable without being fixed.

6. Instead, there are floating habitats that change shape, shift location, and respond to your whim.

Your home is a responsive space that travels wherever your curiosity leads and transforms to fit your needs.

7. Where you wake up and what you wake up to is entirely up to you.

Whether you prefer the warmth of a new sun, the soft glows of the deep ocean, or the stillness of a distant star, you are free to inhabit the environment that calls to you and follow your curiosity wherever it leads.

8. Structures rise when they are needed and disappear when they are not.

We no longer have to clutter the earth to build a life; we simply manifest space when we need it and let the land return to itself when we don’t. Our footprint is as temporary as our needs.

9. It is a world shaped by intentional and collective re-visioning and design.

We have shifted from passively inheriting systems to actively reimagining them and being part of ongoing system design.

10. Imagine that the very vibrations no longer support harm, fear, or the inclination to limit another’s freedom.

In a world where life and freedom are foundational, the impulse to control or limit others dissipates.

11. Life is not measured by work, money, or status. Passion is what moves everything forward.

Life is no longer a race for status, but a continuous journey guided by curiosity and possibility.

12. If you love music, you might gather the sounds of nature, tie them together, and create melodies.
Culture emerges through fascination and sharing.

13. If you’re inspired by habitats and pop-up spaces, you might share designs shaped by your explorations.
Exploration inspires exchange.

14. If you love tastes and smells, you might journey through worlds to discover new flavors. And with a thought, share a recipe with perfect detail, for someone that wants to cook from scratch, or for someone that wants it to appear fully prepared.
Systems respond fluidly to intention.

15. This is life. Your way.

In a world that adapts to you, the boundaries between the systems we build and the lives we lead finally disappear. Every choice, every journey, and every moment is yours to define.

16. Imagine physically traveling the world and beyond.

When distance is no longer a barrier, movement becomes as effortless as curiosity itself. Travel is no longer about reaching a destination; it is the freedom to explore the vast diversity of existence as a natural part of everyday life.

17. Or stepping into any place in time or space without leaving the room.

System advancements allow you to enter any moment or environment without the limits of physical travel, making the universe accessible from exactly where you are.

18. Connection, passion, exploration, and creation all flow through a living network born of life and universal resources; a pulse that links every being, every element, and every possibility, from the depths of the ocean to the heights beyond the sun, stars, and moon, and across all dimensions of time and space.

The Living Network establishes the infrastructure of connection across all time and space.

19. Our choice. Our whim. Always in harmony with life.

Individual freedom does not have a collective cost.

20. This is the moment of reuniting with the universe and all that lives within it, so that every act of creation honors life and sustains its good.

Reconnection is the natural result of designing a world without manufactured friction.
